2006 Dawn Reserve Merlot

The grapes were picked when ripe late in early November, so we got a lot a flavor. The wine was then aged in 25% new French oak and 8% American oak for 40 months. Intense rich and luscious plum and red cherry fruit flavors with tobacco and chocolate overtones and a hint of green olives. Pronounced silky leather finish.
Food Pairings: Beef Stroganoff, Rack of Lamb, Grilled Porterhouse Steak with a Mushroom wine reduction. Good by itself or complementing a fine meal.
