Thunderballs - Beef Meatballs Appetizer



  • 1 Cup 2005 Thunder, Red Rhone Blend
  • 1 pound of Beef Meatballs (you may substitute with Turkey meatballs) – Frozen are best.
  • ½ Cup Diced Sweet onions
  • ½ Cup Julienne Yellow, Red and Green Bell peppers
  • 2 Cloves of garlic, diced
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Crock Pot heated 


  • Sauté at medium heat the onions, peppers and garlic until translucent
  • Move the mixture to crock pot with ¼ cup of the wine
  • Add the meatballs in three batches, a few at a time
  • As the meatballs  heat up move to crock pot
  • Once all meatballs are heated up and in crock pot, add reaming wine
  • Set at lowest heat level for at least 4 hours and serve in the crock pot



You may add Barbeque sauce, 4 Tablespoons and paired with Zinfandel (Zinfull-meatballs) or Teriyaki sauce, 4 tablespoons, paired with Syrah (Audacious Meatballs).

 Note- when you prepare wine-based food recipes keep in mind that the main flavors are a product of the 'splendid blended' that occurs between the particular wine with the food in the other wine will give you the exact flavor.
